A “Niggun” is a simple repetitive melody Jews sing to enter a soulfully enriching state – the lyrics are often “Lai Lai Lai” or a single line of prayer.  By chanting the easy-to-follow nigguns together, participants each play a role in the final arrangement, lending their own harmonies and melodies to the songs.

Hava N’ranena is lead by Tikka Smiley, with a core group of musicians whose extensive performance backgrounds channel their shared love of niggunim. They bring their communal music sessions to spaces of all sizes and create a sacred environment wherever they travel.
